Wings Elite

Your Premiere Flight Training Experience
Welcome to Wings Elite
Thank you for your interest in high quality Cirrus Training with veteran instructor and C-SIP (Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilot) Adrian Reynolds and his team of Wings Elite Instructor Pilots. Adrian has been a pilot for over 20 years, and has chosen to make instructing and the business of flight training his career focus. This has meant that well over 6,000 of his more than 9,000 flight hours have been spent in the right seat, teaching students how to fly and fly better and more safely. In 2012 Adrian started what is now Wings Flight Enterprises (WFE). The company is made up of Wings Flight Training, Wings Flight Maintenance, Wings Flight Club, and Wings Elite Cirrus Flight Training. Wings Elite is the Cirrus Flight Training Division of WFE. At Wings Elite we work hard to offer a concierge type flight training experience that will, we hope, exceed all expectations regarding quality and personalized professionalism.
What follows is an overview of what to expect in terms of costs, procedures and the like. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns, or comments at any time at all! Contact information is at the bottom of this letter.

WHAT TO EXPECT
- The daily rate for instruction is $1,000.00 (up to 8 hours).
- The hourly rate for instruction is $125.00.
- If the training is a Cirrus Embark sponsored one, Cirrus will typically pay for 3 full days of training, however you will be responsible for certain other costs associated with the training (insurance, hangar fees, trains videos and other materials, etc).
- Headset, foggles (if you have them) and other pilot equipment as desired.
- Pilot log books.
- Current pilot medical, pilot licenses and certificates, and appropriate picture ID.
- iPad and Approach login information and desired EFB loaded and updated.
- Backup iPad/iPhone/Android with your EFB updated.
- You will do some ground work ahead of each flight to make the flight itself as productive as possible, and the ground sessions will not be rushed. The focus will be on maximizing the chances for a successful learning experience in the airplane.
- Most flights will be conducted to somewhere… that is – they will not generally occur in the local pattern. This is to demonstrate the significant traveling ability of the Cirrus platform and to give adequate opportunity for you to experience and understand the avionics and other flight procedures in a way that does not require undue haste. On occasion this will include eating lunch at a field away from home base. There are several of these kinds of opportunities around the Lexington area.
- Weather and other factors can have an affect on the lesson sequence, destination etc. Please be prepared to be as flexible as necessary for you and your instructor pilot to make safe and productive decisions.
- There will be occasions upon which you’ll emphasize time in the pattern during your lesson. When that happens you and your IP will discuss why, how etc.
Away From HomeBase Wings Elite C-SIP Info
If you’d like to engage a Wings Elite Cirrus Instructor Pilot to provide instruction while you are changing your cirrus’s home airport (after the completion of a purchase, for example), or if you are located away from our home base airports (KLEX, KDVK, and 27K) we will be happy to help in any way we can. There are a few more expenses to account for in a scenario like that because the IP will be away from home. A sampling of those is listed below.
Please be aware that it is possible that there will be more cost associated with the away-from-home training than noted here due to a number of variables, but this information should get us moving in the right direction. One significant and unpredictable variable is the length of time it might take to make a trip in the single engine Cirrus under ever changing weather conditions. As an example, on a trip from somewhere out West to the Midwest (say Phoenix, AZ to Lexington, KY), if the airplane is equipped with working oxygen then flying over the Rockies might be possible. If not the trip will be lengthened by the need to go around the southern end of the mountains.
- A day rate of $950/day for every day that the instructor pilot is ‘on the road’ (either traveling to the airplane, or flying back in it, or getting home).
- The client is responsible for any hotel costs incurred for overnights the pilot has to spend away from home base.
- A food allowance of $40/day that the pilot is on the road.
- Airline tickets to the airplane for the TCI, and (in the event that it becomes necessary) back to home base
We would also need a letter from the owner giving our IP permission to fly the plane for insurance purposes, a copy of the insurance, and a way to look at the airplane log books to ensure from our standpoint, that the plane is properly inspected, airworthy and legal to fly. Often those can be provided electronically.
As a side note: when the plane gets home and IF you are new to cirrus aircraft (i.e. this is the first cirrus you have purchased) – you, the new owner MAY have the option of training in it for up to three days at Cirrus’ expense with one of our IP’s (this program is called Embark). There may be additional expenses for which you would be responsible if the IP has to travel for the training as noted above. If, however, that training happens close to our home base and the TCI can be at home every night then those extra travel/overnight costs would not apply.
