I think I want to learn to fly. How can I try flying before I commit to training?

We offer a solution for this! A discovery flight pairs you with a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) who will allow you to fly the airplane and teach you basic aircraft controls. Cost is $99.00, with flights lasting around 45 minutes (you can record the time in your logbook as well!).

What are the age requirements for flight training?

The minimum age to solo in an aircraft is 16 years of age, with the minimum age to obtain a Private Pilot Certificate being 17 years of age.

What type of medical examination do I have to have for flight training?

To obtain your 3rd Class Medical Certificate, you will need to complete an examination with an FAA-Authorized Aviation Medical Examiner (AME).

How much does it cost to do flight training?

How long does it take to become a pilot?

What type of training materials do I need?

Wings Flight Training and its dedicated team of flight instructors can help you find training materials suitable to your needs, whether it be our Cessna Training App (CTA) or other sources.

What is ground school?

While much of your ground school can be completed through our utilization of the Cessna Training App (CTA), ground school is an essential part of flight training by which you learn the basic concepts of flight and information pertaining to your rating’s written exam.

Are there other requirements to become a pilot?

Requirements vary by license and type, but generally, you must be fluent in the English language, submit to a medical exam and obtain an FAA medical certification, pass FAA written, oral, and practical exams, all while logging minimum flight hour requirements.

How are your aircraft maintained?

Wings Flight training has it’s own full-time mechanics who perform regular FAA mandated inspections and all repairs.
