Recreational Certificate
Fly during the day within 50 nautical miles of your airport, with the ability to carry one passenger and to travel further with certain limitations. Perfect for enjoying the freedom of flight in your local area and a cost-effective option for those entering aviation.
- Be at least 17 years old
- Be able to read, speak, and write English
- Have a 3rd Class Medical Certificate
- Complete 30 hours of airplane time, including:
- 15 hours of flight instruction
- 3 hours of solo flight time
- Pass two tests:
- Private Pilot FAA Written Test
- Private Pilot FAA Checkride

Private Certificate
This certification is the most sought-after and allows you to legally fly small aircraft while navigating cross country. For those looking to pursue a career in aviation, this is the first major milestone on the road to become a professional airline pilot.
- Be at least 17 years old
- Hold a Student Pilot Certificate and at least a 3rd Class Medical Certificate
- Complete 40 hours of airplane time, including†:
- 20 hours of flight instruction
- 10 hours of solo flight time
- Pass two tests:
- Private Pilot FAA Written Test
- Private Pilot FAA Checkride

Instrument Rating
The Instrument Rating provides pilots with added versatility and freedom, equipping them with the ability to fly in a wider range of weather conditions. Pilots will further hone their skills, with this rating being the next logical step for the private pilot.
- Be able to read, speak, and write English
- Hold at least a current Private Pilot Certificate, or apply for a certificate along with instrument training
- Hold at least a 3rd Class Medical Certificate
- Complete and log ground training with an authorized instructor or home study course.
- Complete 50 hours of cross-country flight, including†:
- 40 hours of actual or simulated instrument time
- 3 hours of instrument flight with a CFI within two months of checkride
- A cross-country flight of 250nm, which includes an instrument approach at each airport, and three different kinds of approaches
- A logbook endorsement from an authorized instructor
- Pass two tests:
- Instrument Rating Knowledge Test
- Instrument Rating Checkride

Commercial Certificate
This is your opportunity to turn your passion for flying into a career. This license allows pilots to be compensated for their skills and services, with training providing a deeper understanding of aircraft systems along with a higher standard of airmanship.
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be able to read, speak, and write English
- Hold at least a current Private Pilot Certificate
- Hold at least a 2nd Class Medical Certificate
- Complete 250 hours of flight time, including†:
- 100 hours as Pilot-In-Command (PIC)
- 50 hours of cross-country PIC
- 10 hours of instrument training
- 10 hours in a Technically Advanced Airplane (TAA)
- A logbook endorsement from an authorized instructor
- Pass two tests:
- Commercial Pilot Knowledge Test
- Commercial Pilot Checkride

CFI/CFII
Enable aspiring pilots while building time towards even more opportunities within the aviation industry! Flight Instructors can be certificated in teaching the basics of aviation or complex weather conditions with the additional instrument rating.
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be able to read, speak, and write English
- Hold at least a Commercial Pilot Certificate and Instrument Rating (CFII)
- Hold at least a 2nd Class Medical Certificate
- Have logged 250 hours of flight time
- A logbook endorsement from an authorized instructor
- Pass two tests:
- Flight Instructor/Instrument Knowledge Test
- Flight Instructor/Instrument Checkride

Biennial Flight Review
This refresher is required for all pilots biennially, with at least an hour each of ground and flight instruction with a qualified CFI. This is the industry’s way of determining that pilots are competent to take to the skies and safely enjoy the thrill of flight!
- Completed every two years*
- Complete 2 hours of instruction, including:
- 1 hour of ground instruction
- 1 hour of airplane time
*Acquiring a new rating also constitutes as a BFR.
